For the past four weeks for gym we have been doing gymnastics. We have been using 6 apparatus -bar, beam, parallel bars, trampoline, mini tramp, and floor/mat.
One challenge for me was doing a head stand because I get really light headed easily.
One achievement for me was doing a bridge because I didn't think my back was that flexible.

Task 1)
Three of these characteristics that Martha had a strength in was Love, Bravery and Forgiveness. Martha was a very brave character in this story. There are some parts of the book that shows it like when she started at her new school it was very brave of her, and Martha walking the same way home with all the kids following and teasing her was very brave. She had a strength in Love because she was able to become good friends with someone who was part of bullying her in the past. And Forgiveness also comes along with that too because she was able to forgive Scott after he joined in with the kids that followed her home and she then became best friends with Scott. Three of the characteristics she lacked was Appreciation of Beauty, Honesty, and zest. Martha lacks Appreciation of beauty in her character because she is shown as insecure and believes people are always judging her even when she has never talked to them before when she shouldn't be thinking like that. The character Martha lacks the personality trait Honesty quite a lot because she lied about things to Scott and tried to hide things from him like her house and she hides other things from him. Martha's character in the book abomination lacks the trait zest because she would never really show much energy in her personality and she would always come off as if she didn't really care that much.
Scott's characters strengths in his personality was bravery, hope, and Perspective. Scott showed a lot of Bravery in the book when he stood up to the people that bullied Martha and then became friends with Martha and then began to start liking her. Scott showed a lot of hope in Martha when he became friends with her and he showed that he truly cared about her. In abomination another trait Scott showed well was perspective, he was thinking about how it made Martha feel and he began to start sticking up for her. Three traits Scott lacks to show is Kindness (at the start), Curiosity, and Judgment(towards the end). Scott lacks to show kindness at the start because he was joining in bullying Martha and he would follow along with the group that would bug Martha. Through out this book Scott lacked to show curiosity, because when he wanted to pay for Martha he only thought of one reason why she couldn't go and believed that was the definite reason why. But really his farther had to explain to Scott that it could be a religion, family or different reason other than money.

What was the NZ Land March (what was the Nz land march, where was it and who was involved?)
The New Zealand Land March was a Protest led by Dame Whina Cooper with over 5000+ people involved so the Maori could gain there land back that was taken. The Protest started on the 17th of September 1975 and was led through Te Hapua all the way to Wellington. The protest finished on the 13th of October 1975 which means it lasted about 29 days.
Understand the events that caused the protest (Why did the protest take place? What problems did the Maori face in the past that lead to the Land March?)
In the early 1970s, growing Maori anger over land alienation led to activism. In the 1975 hīkoi ('stepping out'), protesters marched from North land to Wellington to ask the government to halt further losses of Maori land. Here they walk past Porirua towards their final destination, Parliament.
Understand how the event helped to shape NZ's future (What happened after the NZ land march? What changes took place? )
After the NZ March the Maori were listened to more and got the respect they deserved and hadn't gotten in the past. The Maori language is now used and taught a lot more than it was previously.
What worked well?
What worked well was my map and the notes worked well as well. It has all the information I need and can answer all the questions I currently need it to.
What was challenging?
I found the finding the information a little bit hard when I started but it got easier as I worked along.
What would you do differently next time?
I wouldn't do anything differently because it worked out pretty well and i got all the information i needed.
For the past week, we have been playing badminton in PE. I am going to tell you how to score a game of badminton.
You can play badminton in singles or pairs. There are smaller lines for a single match and wider/deeper lines for a doubles match.
If you hit the shuttlecock over to the opposition side, and they don't hit it, but it lands within the court lines, you score a point
If a server is unsuccessful out of the lines/court, its a point to the other team.
If you don't hit the shuttlecock, or hit it back over the net, and it falls to the ground on your side of the court,its a point to the other team
The first team to 21 points wins the game. There are usually 3 games played, so you might win 3-0,2-1 or 2-0.
If the teams are both on 20 points in a game, the winner must get 2 points ahead to win, eg 22-20
Sophie Pascoe
Sophie Pascoe is a paralympian who has set many world records and received heaps of medals. She is one of New zealands most sucessful paralympians ever. So far she has won nineteen medals attending 4 Paralympics. She has eleven gold, seven silver, and one bronze. When Sophie was two she lost her leg due to a lawn mower accident. Sophie was born in Christchurch, NewZealand on the 8th of January 1993, and raised in Halswell. She is currently 28 years old and is competing in the summer Paralympics. Which began on the 28th of August and ends on the 5th of September.
Sophie appeared in the paralympics due to her competing in the CCS Independence games, Other paralympians Roly Crichton and Graham Condon impressed by her skills invited her to join the QEll Swim club and her Paralympics began from there.
